Speed Equals Happiness for this ‘Crazy Rocketman’
After experimenting with jet-powered machines for most of his life, Robert ‘Bob’ Maddox still enjoys each test drive like a kid. As reported by Inspire More, Bob is a former woodworker and fine artist who is spending his “golden years” building rockets he can ride on. He calls his latest one the “Beast,” a triple valveless jet kart that has reached up to 90 miles per hour.
It’s been four years since the “Crazy Rocketman,” as he calls himself, launched a YouTube channel, where he shares his inventions with the world. Flaming rides and ear-to-ear smiles, that’s what he’s best known for. His followers continuously praise his craftsmanship and contagious joie de vivre every time he crusades the salt flats of Oregon with a new creation.
This Wile E. Coyote fan hasn’t only mastered the art of pulsejets on land, he’s also accumulated over 2,000 skydives in his life and told The Drive it was early on he realized he needed to harness a jet so he could go further on his jumps. Is conquering water next? It seems like nothing can stop this “Crazy Rocketman” from feeding his need for speed!
